Be someone’s reason to smile…

The first part of our recent trip to our motherland, India, has drained us both physically and mentally. Unlocking the house nearly after two years since my mother passed away was really a pain. She was there no more but we could feel her presence in all her belongings and in every nook and corner of the house .

Thanks to Rajdeep Jaiswal and his efficient team for organising the massive cleaning , disinfecting and pest controlling of our house .

We donated lots of clothes of my parents to an NGO , based in Asansol where they distributed those to the people who need them most.

The most touching part was to donate the flutes , the tabla (set of Indian drums) !! I was wondering how to do that and got in touch with Dipalika Banerjee Joshi of Purono Kolkata r Golpo group who is actively involved in various philanthropic works in the state . One day we managed to drop two big boxes of flutes to Mrs. Swarnali Chattopadhay’s house who works closely with the group in her house in Salt Lake and within the next few days Mrs Joshi contacted me via a video call to show where it has been donated to ( https://www.voiceofworld.net/ ) and how they are making good use of the musical instruments that my father used to play !! I can’t thank them enough.  I have promised her that I will definitely visit the place when I will be back in Kolkata next time.

Here is the link where it has been mentioned about the donation. Thank you so much Mr. Jayanta Sen for your kind words. I haven’t had an opportunity to meet you personally but do follow the great works you all do for humanity.

I brought a couple of flutes with me to keep with me for the rest of my life and have given one to Manisha , who wanted to have one as a memorable possession……

Our contribution might not change the world, but it can bring a smile on someone’s face. A few things for charity won’t make us poor, but it will certainly make you rich in values. Nothing is precious than making someone smile.
